Description: Philips Surveyors LLP was appointed by St Anthony’s School, Chichester, to deliver a new SEND double modular classroom on the school’s expanding Jessie Younghusband site. Acting as Lead Consultant, Project Manager and Contract Administrator, we took the project from inception to completion. We also fulfilled the roles of CDM Principal Designer and Principal Designer under the Building Regulations.

The single-storey building gives the school two purpose-designed class bases, with supporting accommodation for pupils with special educational needs. It is complemented by a new secure outdoor play area and associated external works. The building was procured through a modular building framework and delivered by Rollalong under JCT Minor Works Building Contracts with contractor’s design. It was manufactured off-site while groundworks and drainage progressed on site, keeping disruption to the operational school to a minimum.

We administered separate contracts for the building and the external works, managing design coordination, programme, costs and certification throughout. The modular building reached Practical Completion in 16 weeks, ready for occupation after the October half term.
